Teen Therapy
Being a teenager in our modern world is challenging. Teens are under more pressure than ever and this can often translate into academic, social or behavioral issues. Seeking guidance from an adult who is not one’s parent can often be useful for teens. It is also a valuable lesson to learn that mental health is just as important as physical health. In the same way you would seek out a medical doctor for an infection or broken bone, getting help for emotional issues is wise and should be done without shame. Issues teens may seek help with may include but are not limited to:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Drug/alcohol use
- Risky sexual behavior
- Body image/eating disorders
- Cutting/injurious behavior
- Difficulties with peer friendships
- Stress related to high achievement (sports, academic, music, etc)
- Parent/sibling conflicts
- Challenges related to social media use/abuse
