Services

Dr. Parrot offers psychotherapy services for adults, couples, teens, individuals, and families experiencing a life threatening illness. Additionally, services for couples who are divorced or divorcing may involve establishing an appropriate parenting schedule and outlining a parallel parenting plan.

Typical issues that may be the focus of therapy include, but not limited to the following:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Parenting
  • Stress management
  • Life transitions
  • Divorce

What can I expect in a session?

Just like all individuals are unique, psychotherapy sessions can look different depending on the presenting problem and the client’s needs. A session typically lasts 50 minutes. For couples, a 90 minute session can be more productive than a shorter one. We will generally meet one time per week unless there is a crisis or particularly difficult situation that merits meeting more often.

Psychotherapy is a collaborative process; it is not something that happens to you but rather something in which you are an active participant. While much work is done during sessions in the office, integrating what you learn into your life outside of the office is vital to lasting change. The work in between sessions is just as important as that in the session.
