About Dr. Arbella Parrot
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with a private practice in Marin County, California.
I graduated from Smith College and spent several years working and living abroad in Italy. I also hold a Master in Business Administration from the Thunderbird School of International Management. I later earned my doctoral degree (Psy.D.) from the California School of Professional Psychology-Alameda. My doctoral study, “Female business professionals’ perceptions of themselves and others in the workplace”, was a marriage of my knowledge and interest of business and psychology.
My pre and post training focused extensively on couples and families during times of transition and stress in the Family Law Division of the Alameda Superior Court, Oakland and Hayward. Prior to starting my private practice, I continued my work with divorced or divorcing couples on issues related to parenting, communication and custody at the San Francisco Superior Court.
On a personal note, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. This life-altering experience has shaped my work as a psychologist and I see many clients who are either current or former breast cancer patients. In addition, I also meet with family members of patients who may have their own feelings to manage.
